PERIPHERY Guitarist Interviewed In Hannover (Video)

February 8, 2012

Shockwave-Hannover conducted an interview with guitarist Jake Bowen of the Maryland-based experimental, progressive metal band PERIPHERY when the group played at the AWD-Hall in Hannover, Germany on February 5 during their current tour with DREAM THEATER. You can now watch the chat below.

PERIPHERY recently entered the studio to begin recording its sophomore full-length album for an early 2012 release via Sumerian Records.

Bassist Tom Murphy last year announced his departure from PERIPHERY "to pursue something new." Adam "Nolly" Getgood of RED SEAS FIRE has been filling in on bass while Mark Holcomb took up his position as the full-time guitarist on the band's current tour.

PERIPHERY released an EP, "Icarus Lives", on April 19, 2011 via Sumerian Records. This CD features a brand new unreleased track, a series of remixes and video clips.

PERIPHERY's self-titled debut album sold around 4,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 128 on the Billboard 200 chart. The CD landed at No. 2 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
